As you will be well aware, the world is currently dealing with a global pandemic, and this has of course had some affect on my project.
From the 12th of March I found myself presenting some symptoms of the virus and chose to self isolate following government advice. While I did find myself at home with a lot of time to spare, I was in no headspace to be making creative work, and infact was actually quite unwell.
Now that my personal illness has passed, I am attempting to get back to my creative work, but it is still challenging to put my degree into perspective when there are much more important things happening in the world.
Since the UK’s lockdown was announced on Monday 23rd March, I have had to move back home, and am unable to use any of the University’s facilities. This has had a smaller impact on my project than it has had on other’s, however I will likely not have the ability to render out as high resolution work as I intended. I will also possibly struggle with working in a different enviroment, however I have yet to see the impact this environment will have on my work.
I think my plan moving forwards (considering I lost around 2 weeks of working time due to illness) is to just accomplish as much of my project as I possibly can, without putting pressure on myself to finish anything that doesn’t feel right. My project lends its self well to this, as my main aim is to expand my portfolio, so any work that I dont manage to complete will not be greatly missed. Currently though, I am hopeful that I will manage to complete it all.
