Inspiration- Beeple

1–2 minutes

Recently I watched a video by one of my favourite YouTube channels, Corridor Crew. They made a video where they met and challenged online creator Beeple (Mike Winkelmann). Beeple creates and shares something new every day, and is currently in his 12th year of doing so, without ever missing a day. I really feel like I can learn alot from him.

‘he makes a variety of art crap across a variety of media. some of it is ok, but a lot of it kind of blows ass. he’s working on making it suck less everyday though so bear with him… :)’ (Winkelmann, 2019)

Beeple is very humble about his artwork, he recognises that making a new piece every day, he will not be producing premium quality pieces all of the time. But his idea of spending a small amount of time on something, and then moving on rather than sitting and perfecting it is something that I really admire. As a perfectionist, I think I need to try to be a little more Beeple. Accept that sometimes your time isn’t best spent trying to fix one tiny problem, sometimes it is much better to get over it, and carry on creating.

These are some of my favourite pieces that he has done. These days he works primarily in Cinema 4D which is great because now I know what the software is capable of.

I absolutely love everything about these pieces, the colour schemes, the composition, the general moods. Beeple really has an eye for creating beautiful pieces.
