New Plan

2–3 minutes

I’ve had another boost of inspiration and decided to create a different idea. The video below is one that Jon put on our shared Facebook group, and although it was not created in Cinema 4D (they used Blender) I really like the visual style and overall effect.

The bold colours and white overlaid graphics are a similar style to a piece I have previously mentioned and  I would love to replicate this in my final piece.

For my piece I think I would like to stick with 3 main colours, I really like the way that the CMYK colours look together so I will use these along with shades of grey to compliment them. Below is my screen recording of my process of coming up with the ideas

This piece will be to demonstrate my skills with creating mechanical graphics. It will be a looping animation that shows an interpretation of the children’s game marble run, where a ball goes around some tracks and falls through the run. It will loop so that the piece can be self-contained in my final piece.

I will create a cactus character to demonstrate my rigging skills. It will do some kind of dance but I will choreograph this later to fit with the pace of my final piece.

I will create a polaroid camera to show how I can manipulate light.

I will create a gumball machine to show rigid body physics in action.

The final video will be the book opening and then on the first page there will be a contents page which describes all of my pieces. Then a page turn animation will play to transition between each piece. On each of my final pieces, there will be overlays created in After Effects that describe the tools I used to create that piece. This is partially inspired by the video above, but also by the video I found at the start of my project by Yaniv Fridman, that has the exact style of overlay that I want to use, but used in a different context.
