Cinema 4D R19 or R20?

R19 or R20?

Before opening Cinema 4D R19 I anticipated having to do a lot of research into whether to use it (since it is built into After Effects), or find a way to incorporate R20 into my projects (since I’ve been using it this whole time). It became very obvious however, when I opened R19, that there are some very noticeable differences in the two versions of the software and R20 is definitely the more suitable software.

Cinema 4D R20 has a whole range of features, and these are vital to the techniques that I have learned so far. When I opened R19, there are only 3 of the main features that I use.  For example, most of the deformer tools are missing, and also some of the mo-graph tools. This is a deal-breaker for me, R19 is definitely not sufficient enough for my project, and thus ends my exploration into which version of C4D is more appropriate.

In future, when compositing my final work, I will have to figure out how to incorporate R20 files into After Effects, however, they will presumably be very similar to the R19 files, so I think I will investigate this closer to the time.
